The Eugénio de Almeida Foundation was considered the best small and medium company (PME) of the agricultural section in the Agriculture Award's 2014, initiative that it seeks to promote, to motivate and to reward the cases of success of the Agricultural sections, Agroindustrial, Cattle and Forest national. The award was given to Luís Rosado, Administrator Eugénio de Almeida Foundation, in the past December 04, in Lisbon, in a ceremony that had Assunção Cristas presence, Minister of the Agriculture and the Sea.

The Agriculture award 2014 is an initiative of BPI, of the Correio da Manhã, Jornal de Noticias, with the support of PwC and the patronage of the Ministry of the Agriculture and Sea.

To Luís Rosado, Eugénio de Almeida Foundation Administrator, " it is with great proud and satisfaction that we received this award. It represents the recognition of the effort and dedication of one team that works daily in the search of new production solutions, in way to diversify the activities, and in the construction of marks that they stand out for the excellence, quality and individuality."

Eugénio de Almeida Foundation business activity centered in the agricultural production, livestock and agroindustrial, with expressive growths in the last years, that are due above all, according to the same responsible, "to the conquest of new markets for the wines and olive oil, as well as to the increase and diversification of the agricultural productions, thanks to the introduction of new irrigation cultures, that the project of Alqueva came to allow."

For besides the production and commercialization of wines of great fame, the Foundation still has marks of quality olive oil, being also devoted to the corn production and other cereals, horticultural, poppy, meat of bovine, sheep and alentejanos pigs.

Cartuxa Wine Tourism is also a reference in the section and in the area, being foreseen more than 8000 visits during the current year, in their majority of foreigners, with matter it highlights for the Brazilians. Luís Rosado, Eugénio de Almeida Foundation Administrator is fast although "the volume of businesses grew in the last ten years to an average from 14% a year, having crossed the 19 million Euros in 2013, being foreseen for this year more than 20 million." For the period 2014-2020, they are already "identified quite significant investments, so much in the agricultural production, as in the agribusinesses, getting ready Eugénio de Almeida Foundation for the challenges of the future through the increase and diversification of the productions, with a volume of businesses that one foresee reaches the 30 million in 2021", it ended.
